Word Walls in the Dual Language Classroom

High Frequency Words word walls can be a great tool for beginning readers and writers. They help build confidence and foster  independence. When I taught  first grade in a dual language classroom, following the Gomez and Gomez model, I was encouraged to have color coded word walls.  Here are some pictures of my walls. I found that for me it was best to post the words as they were introduced. At the top of the walls  I posted the student generated alphabets . In order to be effective word walls do  require modeling and interaction.
